The stakes are high as 8th graders at Audubon begin to prepare to fly to France. Between all the packing and texting with their French counterparts, who they are participating in the exchange with, about their plans, many of them are excited, but some of them are somewhat anxious.
One student said, “I’m excited,” while another expressed being nervous.
“I’m so freaking nervous, I’ve never even been out of [the] state before,” they said.
The 8th graders are excited, nervous, but still thrilled to be going on this trip.
Along with the students, teachers are also preparing to see Paris (where they will maybe get a longer lunch break).
“I’m getting prepared, and I’m super excited. I’ve never been [to Paris], and I can’t wait to experience this with my students,” ELA teacher Ms. Maleigh said.
The teachers are pumped and enthusiastic for this trip. Sadly, some students aren’t going on this trip.
A student who is not attending said, “I’m disappointed that I’m unable to go. I really wanted to,” they said. “Although I am kinda relieved, honestly, because I didn’t want to do all that walking, and I didn’t want to speak that much French.”
Happy travel, 8th graders!
