School days already feel really long. Students have to wake up early, sit through classes all day, take notes, do a lot of work, and try to stay focused. By the time we get home, most of us all are pretty tired. Having homework after all of that just makes the day feel even longer and trying.
During the school day, we are learning different subjects from back to back, and that takes a lot of energy. When we’re finally home, we should be able to relax, watch TV, hang out with family and friends, or do things we enjoy. Instead, we are tasked with homework that often adds more stress and takes up all our free time.
After a full day of classes, it’s not easy to focus again at home. A lot of students end up rushing through assignments just to get them done, which doesn’t really help anyone learn more.
School is pretty important, but so is having time to rest. Our days, as students, are already packed with stuff and adding extra work at home can be really overwhelming. If there was less homework, students could return to school each day feeling more rested and ready to learn.
